Fantasy Art| Total images: 2560 | Date added: 13.04.2008Fantasy art is a genre of art that depicts magical or other supernatural themes, ideas, creatures or settings. While there is some overlap with science fiction, horror and other speculative fiction art, there are unique elements not generally found in other forms of speculative fiction art. Depictions of ancient myths and legends, as well as depictions of modern day fantasy in the form of divine interventions and other magical or supernatural forces, are very common elements, and help distinguish fantasy art from other forms. Dragons, wizards, fairies and other fantastical and mythical creatures are common features in fantasy art. Fantasy art is strongly linked to fantasy fiction. Indeed fantasy art pieces are often intended to represent specific characters or scenes from works of fantasy literature. Such works created by amateur artists may be called fanart. There is a large subculture based around the creation of amateur fantasy art. This is largely centred around websites such as Elfwood. Such sites are noticeably less male-dominated than some other pursuits related to the fantasy genre. Fantasy art should not be confused with the fantastic art genre, which can contain fantastical elements that are not always considered "fantasy" per se. One of the most exciting sub-genres of fantasy art features the women warrior. Whether they are battling dragons, attacking castles, or fighting as gladiators, these images have fascinated men and women. The artwork in this category was not made by me, nor was it put together by me. It was submitted by others to be a tribute to the genre. If you have a problem with your artwork being listed among the greats of the genre, just e-mail me and I will remove it. Ask your fans to stop submitting your artwork on other sites. Also, understand that no matter where your artwork is located it can be downloaded or uploaded at will. Even if a site does not offer it for download if it appears in a directory on the web software is available to leech it from any server. There is no way to prevent your images from being downloaded from ANY site or server. The best way to keep this from happening is simply do not upload your artwork to the web. All of the artwork on my site can also be found on photobucket and other file sharing sites, even my own artwork. You should just be glad that someone wants to view your artwork or even bothers to care about it. I'm always glad when people honor me by using my artwork, otherwise I would not upload it to a web server for public view. It's a compliment, accept it. Gothic Fairy Wallpaper, Backgrounds, Myspace Layouts, Profile Codes| Total images: 70 | Date added: 18.02.2008My latest Gothic Faery comes in 70 different styles to choose from. She's sassy and cute with my favorite pointed ears, this goth fairy is more into the fashion than deep thinking. an excellent mix of bright, surreal eye catching clothing, while combined with the stereotypical "dark" goth types. Please enjoy these Premade Gothic Fairy myspace Layouts that I worked pretty hard on. The Color Pink Backgrounds and Wallpapers| Total images: 80 | Date added: 16.02.2008Since Valentine's is my 2nd favorite holiday I decided it was time for some
pink. Z and I celebrate our anniversary on St. Valentines Day so it's always a
big deal for us even if we have to celebrate it a day or two late because of
conflicting schedules. I know people say gothic is supposed to be anti-goth, but
I am from the generation where gothic was celebration of doing the things you
liked even if somebody else didn't think it was cool and i think the color pink
is awesome. THERE I SAID IT! I like pink and black! I like pink and black and
grey! Shocking how I don't care what other people think?! Lovers| Total images: 31 | Date added: 14.02.2008Love has many different meanings in English, from something that gives a little pleasure ("I loved that meal") to something one would die for (patriotism, pair bonding). It can describe an intense feeling of affection, an emotion or an emotional state. In ordinary use, it usually refers to interpersonal love. Probably due to its psychological relevance, love is one of the most common themes in art and music. Gothic and Goth Backgrounds and Wallpapers 2008| Total images: 27 | Date added: 07.02.2008I have started adding my new images to the site and with new images I find I need to make new folders to try and keep these things organized. Here are my new Gothic imagery for 2008, I call this little lady Boots. Choosing names for the images I create is usually pretty hard, I want to be original and match the pictures with a name that identifies what you are seeing. Boots is a skinny little goth girl with a bit of an attitude, I hope you enjoy looking at her. I'll be adding more characters over the coming weeks so be sure and keep checking back for more! Folklorists generally use the term ‘fairy’ rather loosely, to cover a range of
non-human yet material beings with magical powers. These could be visible or
invisible at will, and could change shape; some lived underground, others in
woods, or in water; some flew. Some were believed to be friendly, giving luck,
prosperity, or useful skills to humans who treated them respectfully; many were
regarded as troublesome pranksters, or, in extreme cases, as minor demons;
sometimes they were blamed for causing sickness, stealing human babies, and
leaving changelings. Human adults might be invited (or abducted) into fairyland. Fairies can be divided into two major groups: ‘social’ fairies, imagined as living in communities and pursuing group activities such as dancing and feasting; and ‘solitary’ fairies, of which some (the brownie type) attach themselves to human households as helpers and luck-bringers, while others (the bogey/ boggart type) haunt an open-air site, often as a more-or-less serious threat to passers-by. But it is not always clear-cut; pixies, for example, can be either ‘social’ or ‘solitary’, while Robin Goodfellow behaves equally readily as prankster or helpful household sprite. Conversely, informants sometimes insist on rigid separations between categories; a brownie, for instance, might be regarded as a quite different creature from a fairy, and a shape-changing apparition like the Yorkshire guytrash as something different again—which, from a functionalist point of view, is true enough. The number of local words for species and sub-species, and for individuals, is considerable. The original English term for the whole species was elf, but in Middle English this was largely replaced by ‘fairy’, borrowed from French. The clergy, whether Catholic or Protestant, usually insisted that all such creatures could only be devils; many realized their similarity to the fauns, satyrs, nymphs, etc., of classical mythology, which they also regarded as demons. In popular belief, however, fairies were fitted into the Christian frame of reference in ways which left them morally ambiguous; in Cornwall, they were said to be angels who refused to side either with God or with Lucifer when the latter rebelled, and so, being ‘too good for Hell and too bad for Heaven’, were thrown down to earth and lived wherever they happened to fall. Alternatively, they could be identified with ghosts—either of the dead in general, or of special categories such as unbaptized infants. The latter was commonly said of the Will-o'-the-Wisp. Belief in the household brownie (or pixy, or puck) was closely linked to farming; he threshes corn, tends horses, herds sheep, churns butter, cleans the kitchen, and so on, like an ideal farm servant. He also brings prosperity, and can take it away again if offended; he punishes anyone who mocks him, and those who work badly. The knockers had a similar role in tin and lead mining, but not in coal mines, indicating that this belief had faded by the time the latter industry was established. PSP Wallpapers| Total images: 392 | Date added: 28.01.2008I didn't make these, but they are very beautiful. Scrollbars| Total images: 5 | Date added: 28.01.2008I made some scrollbars because I thought some of you probably hate making your own. :) Gothic Alphabets| Total images: 28 | Date added: 21.01.2008Here are some alphabets in transparent pngs. I didn't watermark each image because I think it is bullshit when sites do that. All you have to do is link to this site one time from the page where you use our graphics, if you already have a link to us then you are good to go. The first set I made is called "Rock Star" it uses the VTKS Rock Garage Band font found for free on free font sites. These images have transparent backgrounds so they blend in with any bacground image or colors. Table Backgrounds | Transparent Table Images || Total images: 4 | Date added: 14.01.2008These might not appear transparent in the thumbnails, but these images are designed to use in generators as table backgrounds over your main background.
