Gothic art was a Medieval art movement that lasted about 200 years. It began in France out of the Romanesque period in the mid-12th century, concurrent with Gothic architecture found in Cathedrals. By the late 14th century, it had evolved towards a more secular and natural style known as International Gothic, which continued until the late 15th century, where it evolved into Renaissance art. The primary Gothic art mediums were sculpture, panel painting, stained glass, fresco and illuminated manuscript. Gothic art told a narrative story through pictures, both Christian and secular. The earliest Gothic art was Christian sculptures, born on the walls of Cathedrals and abbeys. Christian art was often typological in nature (see Medieval allegory), showing the stories of the New Testament and the Old Testament side by side. Saints' lives were often depicted. Images of the Virgin Mary changed from the Byzantine iconic form to a more human and affectionate mother, cuddling her infant, swaying from her hip, and showing the refined manners of a well-born aristocratic courtly lady. Secular art came in to its own during this period with the rise of cities, foundation of universities, increasing trade, a money-based economy and a bourgeois class who could afford to patronize the arts and commission works resulting in a proliferation of paintings and illuminated manuscripts. Increased literacy and a growing body of secular vernacular literature encouraged the representation of secular themes in art. With the growth of cities, trade guilds were formed and artists were often required to be members of a painters' guild—as a result, because of better record keeping, more artists are known to us by name in this period than any previous, some artists were even so bold as to sign their names. Gothic rock (alternatively called goth rock or simply goth) is a genre of alternative rock that originated during the late 1970s. Originally, bands from the genre had strong ties to the English punk rock and emerging post-punk styles. The genre itself was defined as a separate movement from punk rock during the early 1980s. Gothic rock artists deal with dark themes and intellectual movements such as gothic horror, Romanticism, and nihilism. Notable gothic rock bands include Bauhaus, The Cure, Siouxsie & the Banshees, The Sisters of Mercy, and The Mission. Gothic rock gave rise to a broader goth subculture that includes goth clubs, goth fashions, and goth-oriented magazines. Gothic Lolita or "GothLoli" (ゴスロリ, gosurori?, sometimes "Loli-Goth") has two definitions. The term "Gothic and Lolita" is used by the Japanese to describe a sub-culture of teenagers who wear a wide range of fashions. It is used by English language sources mainly to describe a specific subset of Lolita fashion. Southern Gothic is a subgenre of the Gothic writing style, unique to American literature. Like its parent genre, it relies on supernatural, ironic, or unusual events to guide the plot. Unlike its predecessor, it uses these tools not for the sake of suspense, but to explore social issues and reveal the cultural character of the American South. The Southern Gothic author usually avoids perpetuating antebellum stereotypes like the contented slave, the demure Southern belle, the chivalrous gentleman, or the righteous Christian preacher. Instead, the writer takes classic Gothic archetypes, such as the damsel in distress or the heroic knight, and portrays them in a more modern and realistic manner — transforming them into, for example, a spiteful and reclusive spinster, or a white-suited, fan-brandishing lawyer with ulterior motives. One of the most notable features of the Southern Gothic is "the grotesque" — this includes situations, places, or stock characters that often possess some cringe-inducing qualities, typically racial bigotry and egotistical self-righteousness — but enough good traits that readers find themselves interested nevertheless. While often disturbing, Southern Gothic authors commonly use deeply flawed, grotesque characters for greater narrative range and more opportunities to highlight unpleasant aspects of Southern culture, without being too literal or appearing to be overly moralistic. The goth subculture is a contemporary subculture found in many countries. It began in the United Kingdom during the early 1980s in the gothic rock scene, an offshoot of the post-punk genre. The goth subculture has survived much longer than others of the same era, and has continued to diversify. Its imagery and cultural proclivities indicate influences from nineteenth century Gothic literature along with horror movies and to a lesser extent—according to César Fuentes Rodríguez and Carol Siegel—the BDSM culture. The goth subculture has associated tastes in music, aesthetics, and fashion, whether or not all individuals who share those tastes are in fact members of the goth subculture. Gothic music encompasses a number of different styles. Common to all is a tendency towards a lugubrious, mystical sound and outlook. Styles of dress within the subculture range from deathrock, punk, androgynous, medieval, some Renaissance and Victorian style clothes, or combinations of the above, most often with black attire, makeup and hair.

    What's This Code Stuff?

MySpace allows users to customize their user profile pages by entering HTML (but not JavaScript) into such areas as "About Me,","I'd Like to Meet,", and "Interests." Videos, and flash-based content can be included this way. Users also have the option to add music to their profile pages via MySpace Music, a service that allows bands to post songs for use on MySpace.

A user can also change the general appearance of his page by entering CSS (in a element) into one of these fields to override the page's default style sheet using my space editors. This is often used to tweak fonts and colors, but it has its limitations due to poorly-structured HTML used on the profile page.

The fact that the user-added CSS is located in the middle of the page (rather than being located in the element) means that the page will begin to load with the default MySpace layout before abruptly changing to the custom layout.

Many of the graphics you will find at this site are made by me, you do not have permission to post layouts that you make with my images on other layout sites, you may only use them in the manner suggested on this site. That is only as a layout or web design for your shop or personal site.

If the link or the copyright is removed from the image I will seek legal means of having it removed. I don't remove copyrights from the images of others work, and neither should you. As long as the copyright is attached at the bottom or you link to this site you're all good. You only have to link one time.

What you'll find here is the same stuff you see on other profile sites like: Myspace Tweaks, Pimp my Myspace, free video codes, video codes, Myspace Full Layout Generator, Myspace Friends List, Myspace Contact Box, Myspace Online Now, Myspace Comment Box, Myspace overlapping text, Myspace Falling Objects, Myspace Navigation Bar, My space Whore me, Myspace Scrollbar Colours, Myspace Extended Network, Myspace Music and video codes, Myspace Image Codes, Myspace Hover Codes, My space Marquee Codes, Myspace Color Chart, Myspace Tutorials, Myspace Video Tutorials, Myspace Image Hosting (yes, i'm about to turn it back on), xanga blog codes, xanga, xanga videos, Darkspace Graphics | Powered by Darkfaery Subculture Magazine, grunge, xanga video codes, free video codes for your website, free vids,  only here it is darker, hauntingly beautiful, very original art.

You'll find that I have a taste for dark weird things, adventure, fantasy, science fiction, horror, romance, comedy, and creatures. If it has pointed ears chances are I love it already! :)

Please feel free to sign my guestbook, I love to see photos and comments here.

A special type of modification is a div overlay, where the default layout is dramatically changed by hiding default text with tags and large images. There are several independent web sites offering MySpace layout design utilities which let a user select options and preview what their page will look like with them. MySpace has recently added its own "Profile Customizer" to the site, allowing users to change their profile through MySpace. Using this feature
